Carl Grant III Joins AcumenX as Partner to Lead Growth Advisory and Launch AI Advisory Practice
May 18, 2026
AcumenX, the Washington, D.C.-based national boutique advisory firm known as a “Special Forces Team for Business Transformation,” is pleased to announce that Carl Grant III has joined the firm as Partner. Grant will lead AcumenX’s Growth Advisory practice and launch its new AI Advisory practice, expanding the firm’s capabilities for emerging growth and middle-market companies, private equity and venture capital investors, and strategic partners.
Grant brings more than 30 years of business development and growth strategy leadership across professional services, technology, and law. He spent two decades as Executive Vice President of Business Development at an AmLaw 20 global law firm, where he led the firm’s business development organization and contributed to $1.7 billion in annual revenue growth. He also created the firm’s Capital Call pitch event, which connected high-growth companies with investors and helped facilitate more than $2.35 billion in capital raises.
Most recently, Grant served as CEO of Rainmakers Group, advising CEOs, boards, and investors on organic and M&A growth strategy, AI adoption, and modern demand generation, including AEO and GEO. For Grant, joining AcumenX represents a professional homecoming. AcumenX Co-Founder Warren Martin first hired Grant during Martin’s tenure leading a Big 4 Technology Practice, where AcumenX leaders Bill Hughes and Steve Bacica were also part of the team. Now, they reunite at AcumenX alongside Co-Founder Eric Geppert, a former AmLaw 20 partner.
“I started my business development career under Warren’s leadership and would be thrilled to finish it as his partner. Warren, Bill, Steve, and Eric are among the most disciplined, proven, and trusted operators I have worked with. The opportunity to help build and scale AcumenX with this team, for clients we have known and served for years, is exactly the kind of work I want to be doing.”

Warren Martin, AcumenX Co-Founder and Partner, added, “Carl is one of the strongest business development leaders I have worked with across Big 4, AmLaw 20, and now AcumenX. He is a true super-connector, a trusted advisor to CEOs and investors, and the right partner to help scale the firm and bring our AI Advisory practice to market.”
The newly launched AI Advisory practice helps organizations navigate AI strategy, governance, risk, and adoption through five integrated service lines:
AI Board Strategy and Readiness

AI Legal Risk and Transactional Advisory
AI Policy Monitoring and Regulatory Intelligence
AI-Assisted Marketing and Business Development, including AEO, GEO, and automated lead generation
